Collective Goon Cave was developed within the Sex Ed program I organize at the School for Poetic Computation, taught from the outer edges of my own questions about technology, overwhelm, and desire. The work took the form of a multi-channel video installation composed of anonymously submitted videos responding to the prompt: "Share a video that is erotic to you."

The installation was informed by research into gooning and goon caves, an internet subculture organized around immersive, screen-saturated environments and durational states of eroticized attention: states of overwhelm, touching the sublime. We approached goon caves as a form of vernacular, digitally enabled folk art, the folk art of both the handmade physical setups and the meticulous media practices that support them.
